Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a heterogeneous disease and characterized by dysregulated immune response of diverse cell subtypes, such as Th2, Th22, Th17. Heterogeneity AD can be reasoned varying contribution underlying subsets, observed altered cytokine milieus in the skin. These variations result changes protein expression keratinocytes, including antimicrobial peptides (AMPs). We hypothesize that peptide may correlate with subtypes and, therefore, used potential biomarkers to predict treatment outcome.
